OUR SUPPLIED MEDIA PREFERRED We can only use customer supplied new or used media if it meets our specifications.
SUPPLYING YOUR OWN THUMB/FLASH DRIVE OR HARD DRIVE MEDIA: You can supply your own 3.0 TYPE A USB new or used media but it must be large enough to fit all of your files. Hard Drives should have a standard USB 3.0 TYPE A connection and must be PC/MAC compatible and pre-formatted in EXFAT or NTFS. No warranty or guarantees on customer supplied media. We prefer “plug & play” media over A/C powered hard drives. We do not accept customers supplied tape or DVD/Blu Ray disc media
USB DRIVES AND STORAGE MEDIA
PORTABLE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES (plug & play) with High speed USB for large film transfer orders and video to computer files. We use PC and MAC (both in one) compatible drives.
Portable hard drives bring the advantages of hard disk drives (capacity and cost) to a portable form factor. Portable hard drives use their PC connection (usually USB) for power, so you don’t need to remember a power adapter. These drives are ideal for situations where you might want to move large amounts of data between computers, using the “sneakernet” approach instead of via a network.
For example, you might be editing a large video file on a work PC, then need to bring it home to work on during the weekend. Or you may have a large media library like your digital photo albums that you want to access from a different computer. Some portable hard drives are ruggedized, so you can use them to transport data offsite without worrying about exposure to rain, extreme temperatures, or accidental bumps and bangs.
We use Seagate Basic & One Touch USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drives from 1TB to 5TB size or can provide Samsung Portable SSD Hard Drives (info below).

External Solid State Drives (or SSDs) are a relatively recent development. Solid state technology offers many advantages over a traditional hard disk drive. With no moving parts, SSDs are far faster, and also more reliable. They run silently, and use less energy. They are much smaller as well.
The drawback to SSDs has been cost. However, prices have been steadily falling to the point where external solid state drives are now a practical option as a desktop external drive. Ultra-high capacity remains prohibitively expensive, so desktop SSDs are typically offered in 500GB to 2TB capacities, but this is plenty of storage for PC backups, and storing critical files.
Their huge speed advantage over hard disk drives also makes external SSDs ideal for use as emergency boot drives for PCs.
External SSDs are all small enough (and with no moving parts, they are rugged enough) that there is no real distinction between desktop and portable. Virtually any external SSD can be carried in a pocket.

LOANER PORTABLE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES AVAILABLE
Don’t want to spend the money on a hard drive and have the capacity to transfer your files to your computer or hard drive from our loaner provided portable hard drives?
We can load all your files onto one of our portable hard drives and ship it to you with your order. A refundable deposit is required in case you decide to keep the hard drive. The deposit is refunded on the hard drives safe return to our studio. Cost of the deposit is determined at the time of invoicing.

There are many manufacturers of USB Thumb/Flash/Jump drives and we have found, what we feel are the most cost efficient and reliable drives available that we provide our customers are; DataTaveler by Kingston.
USB flash drives may just be the most convenient way to move data from one PC to another. They are tiny (easily slipping in a pocket) and affordable. Simply plug a flash drive into a USB port and the computer will mount it as though it were a hard drive, however, they are limited by the amount of video/film files that can be placed on them and the file transfer speed.
We also have available Kingston DataTraveler USB-C for the latest smartphone, tablets for either Android or Apple devices.
USB flash drives offered at TMTV range in capacities, from 8GB to 128GB. Our maximum size USB thumb drive we offer is 128GB. Larger size USB’s are more expensive and basically the same cost as a 1TB hard drive.
MEMORY CARDS
Memory Cards are another popular form of storage. They remain the storage option of choice for digital cameras, but are also used by a range of devices and we use them for transferring files to a PC.
Most devices use SD, microSD, SDXC or microSDXC cards. There are three primary factors to consider before purchasing a memory card: the form factor, the speed and the capacity.
