SNOWFALL WARNING
CONTINUES: White-out
conditions are being
reported on some local
highways --- A Pacific
frontal system will
continue to spread snow
to the Columbia and
Kootenay regions.
Additional snowfall
amounts up to 15 cm are
forecast for tonight. In
the Elk Valley region,
only areas near Fernie
are expected to receive
snowfall amounts in
excess of 15 cm. The
snow is expected to
taper off Wednesday
morning. Currently
strong winds are being
generated over parts of
the southern interior
ahead of the weather
system. Wind gusts
reaching 90 km/h are
forecast for late this
afternoon through this
evening over the South
Okanagan. Heavy snowfall
is expected on all
interior highway passes.

Advisory in effect due
to Freezing Rain from
Rock Creek to Creston
(289.8 km). Intermittent
freezing rain is
occurring in some areas
and is forecasted to
last until the early
hours of Wed morning
(Jan 25). Travelers are
advised that slippery
conditions may persist
over the southern
portions of the
district. Please use
extreme caution when
traveling and allow
additional travel time
to reach your
destination.
